Personal belongings are always fascinating, for they can tell us much of the past highlight the human touch which makes social history come alive.

Antique personal possessions describes much of the paraphernalia which people used during the period 1860 to 1930. Many of the personal items of the time are now of historical interest, some merely unusual or beautiful; they nearly all provide a nostalgic glimpse into a world were society demanded the maximum of ‘style’. Often the items are model examples of Victorian ingenuity, while later items reflect the elegance of the Edwardian era.
